A Belgian native born in Fes, Morocco, was raised and educated around the world, from Hawaii to the Hotel School of the University of Denver with various stops in-between. Olivier’s global outlook, as well as his love and knowledge of world cultures is deeply engrained.
Launching his career in Mauna Kea Beach Hotel as a management trainee, he eventually joined The Ritz-Carlton, which took him on a professional globe-hop spanning 16 years; Hawaii, California, Mexico, Singapore, Hong Kong, Barcelona, Dubai & Sharm El Sheikh.
A key player in a number of hotel openings from Doha to Philadelphia, to the rebranding campaign at The Palace Downtown Dubai, Olivier’s role naturally evolved into Opening Manager at The Address Dubai, Raffles Praslin Seychelles and most recently, The Norman Tel Aviv (voted the world’s best boutique hotel). Currently engaged in launching Almanac Hotels with its first hotel due to open in Barcelona in 2017.
With experience in managing both urban and resort hotels, Olivier has a visionary 360° view of hotel operations. His greatest attributes are found in the creative areas of product & services, marketing & positioning, as well as establishing processes to optimize financial returns.
One sunny day in 1996, under the beating sun of Laguna Niguel, fate worked its magic and ensured that the HEUCHENNE BAUGE paths were to cross.
